Geologic time- Paleogene time

SUMMARY
The paleogene time was 65-24 million years ago. The Earth landmasses looked like more oval. This period was broken in three times; Oliocene (38-24 mya), Eocene (54-38 mya) and paleocene (65-54mya)
In this time, many new mammals were discover. Like ( pigs, deer, cats, rhinos, tapirs appear. And grasss common.
PROJECTION REFLECTION:
What did you enjoy most about this project?
I enjoyed most in this project, work with a partner  and share new ideas together.

What was most challenging about this project? why?
the most challenging about this project was to find the important events in million of year, because this time was long time ago.

What you change about this project and why?
I changed the movie that I made and I added more pictures to my video.

What are 3 things that you learned from this project?
The first thing that I learned from this project was that this happened 65-24 million years ago.
Other thing is that many important events happened in this time, like the new mammals were create and a insect population was growing.
And a very important events was that the Oligocere Australia separated from Antartica, and India crashes
into Asia creating the Himalayan mountains.

Life of a Star

What is a star?
I s a sphere made of hot gas.

Types of stars:
-Giant stars
-Supergiant stars
-Main sequence stars
-White dwarfs stars

What is a H-R diagram?

Is a graphical tool that astronomers  use to classify stars according to their luminosity, spectral type, color, temperature and evolutionary stage.

What is nuclear fusion?
Is the process by which two or more atomic nuclei join together, or "fuse", to form a single heavier nucleus.

The life cycle of a star:
From its formation in a nebula, to its death as a white dwarf or neutron star.
NEBULAA nebula is a cloud of gas (hydrogen) and dust in space.

STAR
Is a sphere made of gas.
RED GIANTThis is a large bright star with a cool surface.

RED DWARF
These are very cool, faint and small stars, approximately one tenth the mass and diameter of the Sun.
WHITE DWARFThis is very small, hot star, the last stage in the life cycle of a star like the Sun.

SUPERNOVA
This is the explosive death of a star, and often results in the star obtaining the brightness of 100 million suns for a short time.

NEUTRON STARS
These stars are composed mainly of neutrons and are produced when a supernova explodes, forcing the protons and electrons to combine to produce a neutron star.
BLACK HOLESBlack holes are believed to form from massive stars at the end of their life times.

Earth Planet

This planet is the third one from the sun, the distance from the sun is 149,597,870.7km and the mass is 5.97428*1024 .The diameter of the earth is 12756.2km , the rotation is about 24 hours and the revolution is 1 year, in this plant is only 1 moon and this is a terrestrial planet.

The planet is home to millions of species, including humans. Earth's biosphere has significantly altered the atmosphere and other abiotic conditions on the planet, enabling the proliferation of aerobic organisms as well as the formation of the ozone layer which, together with Earth's magnetic field, blocks harmful solar radiation, permitting life on land.

This planet has plate tectonics that keep the planet comfortable, this is the crust of the earth broken up into regions. The 70% of the earth's surface is covered in water. Earth is almost a sphere, the Earth atmosphere extends out to 10,000km.

Hurricane Irene project

 Critical Thinking:

1. What effect does water temperature have on the creation a hurricane?
The water temperature change to warm water in the ocean.

2. Why would there be more damage to an area during high tide?
Because with the high tides the precipitation can get higher and can make floods and ground water, that will causes more damages in the environment.

3. If an area is fully saturated, how will this be more dangerous for an area?
This will be more dangerous because the water will become stagnant in that place and many people can die with the big flooding that will cause.

4. Why would there be more flooding if the ground was fully saturated?
Because the water will be become stagnant in that area and will cause a big flood.
